Former Sun Prairie officer charged with sexually assaulting, exposing himself to juveniles

A former Sun Prairie school resource officer was charged Monday with sexually assaulting a Phoenix Prairie Academy student and exposing himself to another child he was mentoring in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, reports the Wisconsin State Journal.

According to the criminal complaint filed Monday, Lamont L. Crockett, 34, brought the student to his home where he served him alcohol and then sexually assaulting student.

The Wisconsin State Journal also reported, Crockett was ordered to not have any contact with the victims or their families and to not have unsupervised contact with minors at Monday’s initial appearance. He was released on a signature bond.

The Dane County District Attorney’s office had not filed charges against Crockett for nearly a month after his arrest on Aug. 9, saying an investigation was ongoing but he was released only two days later to await charges.
