Jacob Blake has filed a new lawsuit against the City of Kenosha and Kenosha Police, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The Kenosha District Attorney declined to file criminal charges against the officer involved in the shotting. Blake previously sued the officer in 2021 but dropped the lawsuit last year.

As previously reported, the shooting led to violent protests in Kenosha when Kyle Rittenhouse killed Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz, 28. Rittenhouse was acquitted in 2021 after arguing he acted in self-defense.

The Kenosha News first reported Blake filed the lawsuit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
