A Milwaukee attorney will soon find out if the state will revoke his law license. The Wisconsin Supreme Court plans to rule in the Office of Lawyer Regulation’s case against Michael Krill on Thursday.
The OLR charged Krill of Michael M Krill Law Office with 20 counts of misconduct in December 2018. The alleged violations included distributing client money held in trust without his client’s permission, lying to the OLR and helping a client defraud a third party by preparing forged and fraudulent documents.
Krill spent 30 days in jail for some of the behavior and was ordered to pay more than $301,000 to a client. However, he denied all 20 of the OLR’s allegations.
The OLR is asking the high court to revoke Krill’s license, meaning he would be indefinitely banned from practicing law. He would be able to petition for reinstatement after five years.
Krill’s license is now administratively suspended for failure to pay dues and failure to submit a certification of his trust account. Follow @WLJReporter
