Burnett County is seeking applications for its next district attorney. Gov. Tony Evers announced the vacancy Thursday.
The county’s previous district attorney, Joseph Schieffer, resigned on Oct. 8. Former Gov. Scott Walker appointed Schieffer in December 2018 to succeed William Norine, who resigned after making headlines for asking women who had been criminal defendants in his county out on dates.
Burnett County’s new appointee will serve the remainder of Schieffer’s term that ends in January 2021.
Interested applicants should submit an application form and supporting materials to [email protected] by Oct. 21. Follow @WLJReporter
