The Office of Lawyer Regulation has dropped its investigation into attorney Douglas Kammer following his death on Sept. 11.
Kammer practiced law in Portage and served as president of the State Bar of Wisconsin from 2009-2010. He faced a six-month law suspension for a complicated trustee case involving allegations of conflict of interest. Keith Sellen, director of the OLR, said the case against Kammer has been dismissed, which is typical when an attorney dies before a final order has been issued.
An obituary for the 74-year-old lawyer said he died of a sudden and unexpected condition at the UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison.
