A Mequon employment attorney suspected of breaking several rules of attorney conduct is fighting the charges.
The Office of Lawyer Regulation charged Janet Heins in December with six counts of alleged misconduct involving three clients and has asked the Wisconsin Supreme Court to suspend her license for 60 days.
Heins filed a response in January. She is being represented in the case by Jeremy Levinson of Halling & Cayo in Milwaukee.
The court has appointed James Mohr to be the referee in the case, and a hearing is set for June 19 and June 20 in Milwaukee, according to court records.
