MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Milwaukee County judge is expected to decide next week whether a violent sex offender granted supervised release should live in a small community in Fond du Lac County where residents are angry over the possible placement.

Residents of Eldorado say because the offender committed his crime in Milwaukee County, that’s where he should be released.

The state Department of Health Services picked a place it leases in Eldorado after a Milwaukee alderman objected to Clint Rhymes’ release to a house in Milwaukee where two other offenders live. The case has landed in Judge Mark Sanders’ court. A hearing is scheduled Dec. 16.

Eldorado residents who packed a town hall meeting this week about the placement were being urged to contact the judge to express their opposition.
