FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) — A Kenosha man charged with killing a teenager in 1990 is now facing drug charges.
The Reporter Media reports 61-year-old Dennis Brantner was charged Friday with five possession related charges and five counts of felony bail jumping.
According to a criminal complaint, prescription drugs were found in Brantner’s boot after he was arrested March 27 for the murder of 18-year-old Berit Beck.
His brother, Michael Brantner, told detectives it’s possible his brother may have been attempting to smuggle the drugs into jail in an attempt to kill himself.
Fond du Lac County Circuit Court Judge Dale English ordered a $50,000 cash bond Friday. Brantner is already being held in Fond du Lac County Jail on a $1 million cash bond in the Beck case.
