CLEVELAND (AP) — A Wisconsin company and its owner have pleaded guilty in Cleveland to selling thousands of video slot machines and machine components to bars and businesses in Ohio.
Thirty-four-year-old Erin Nelson and her company, 8 Line Supply of De Pere, entered guilty pleas Thursday to charges that include attempted money laundering, possessing criminal tools and gambling.
According to a statement from the Cuyahoga County prosecutor and Ohio Department of Public Safety, the company has sold $2.7 million worth of video slot machines and components in Ohio since 2008. The charges come after an investigation by prosecutors, the Ohio Investigative Unit and the U.S. Secret Service.
Authorities say raids by investigators led to eight northeast Ohio bar owners pleading guilty to gambling charges.
Nelson’s attorney could not be immediately reached Thursday.
