MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic state attorney general candidate Jon Richards has nearly $170,000 cash on hand as he faces two others for the state party nomination.
Richards reported on Thursday his fundraising totals for the first six months of the year. Richards is a state representative from Milwaukee. He’s facing Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne and Jefferson County District Attorney Susan Happ in the Aug. 12 primary.
Richards is the first candidate to submit his fundraising report, which is due Monday. He raised just over $190,000 in the first six months of the year.
Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel is the only Republican running. He has yet to submit his report.
Incumbent Republican Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen is not seeking a third term.
