GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has hired a lawyer to investigate a complaint against men’s basketball coach Brian Wardle.

Private attorney Joseph Nicks has agreed to handle the investigation. He told The Associated Press on Monday he plans to start quickly and conduct a fair analysis. He says he can’t speculate on how long it will take.

The school announced the investigation last week after the parents of a former center wrote a letter alleging their son was mistreated. The school and the family have declined to release the letter or reveal the basis for the allegations.

A message left with Wardle on Monday was not immediately returned.

The center and three other players have left the basketball program since mid-February. One said he had “differences” with Wardle.
