FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) – A Wisconsin judge will allow evidence officers found in the pockets of a man charged in a crash that killed two motorcycle riders from Michigan.
An attorney for Clinton Lovelace asked that items officers seized from his pants pocket after the crash be suppressed. But, a judge in Fond du Lac County denied that motion Wednesday.
The Reporter says defense attorney Mary Wolfe argued officers should have gotten a search warrant before going through Lovelace’s pants at the hospital. Investigators say they found syringes and narcotics.
Lovelace is facing 12 felonies after crashing into a group of riders on a Fond du Lac County highway last year. Daniel Winsemius and Douglas Yonkers died as a result of the crash. Eight others were hurt.
