WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — A Waukesha County judge has sentenced Chad Lurvey to two life sentences for the killings of two men nearly nine years ago.

Judge Patrick Haughney said Tuesday the sentences will run consecutively.

Lurvey declined to speak. His attorney suggested a sentence of 30 years in prison, with the possibility of extended supervision, but that was denied.

The Journal Sentinel reports the judge told Lurvey: “You can’t be trusted to walk the streets again.”

A jury convicted Lurvey of killing Brian Lazzaro of Mukwonago and Andrew Long of West Milwaukee in a dispute over drugs and money. The bodies of the 25-year-old men were found in a private lake on Lurvey’s property in September 2002. A criminal complaint says both had been shot multiple times and their throats cut.
