Wis. man gets life for 1980 murder

Listen to this articlePORTAGE, Wis. (AP) — A Randolph man has been sentenced to life in prison for a murder that happened 30 years ago.
Curtis Forbes got the life term after a jury convicted him of first-degree murder last November.
Forbes was accused of fatally beating and stabbing 18-year-old Marilyn McIntyre.
Advances in DNA technology revived an investigation into McIntyre’s death. Her husband found her body when he returned from working an overnight shift on March 11, 1980. The couple’s 3-month-old baby was in a crib at their Columbus apartment.
According to a criminal complaint filed after McIntyre’s body was exhumed in 2008, blood from both Forbes and McIntyre was found in a bathroom sink at the victim’s home.
Forbes and McIntyre’s husband, Lane, were friends from high school.
