von Briesen & Roper, s.c. announces the addition of six attorneys: Shareholder Jennifer Bolger and Associates Alyssa D. Dowse, Nathan S. Fronk, David P. Knaff, Megan L.W. Jerabek and Rachel N. Schepp.
Bolger is a shareholder in the Environmental Law and Litigation Section. Bolger has represented clients with respect to a wide variety of environmental issues, including solid waste landfill management, transportation of hazardous waste, various types of site closures and remediations, Brownfield redevelopment and environmental due diligence. Bolger earned a J.D. (2000) from Marquette University.
Dowse is a member of the Compensation and Benefits Section. She assists administrators and fiduciaries of employee benefits plans in complying with the standards of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and related regulations. Dowse received a J.D., cum laude, (2010) from Marquette University.
Fronk is a member of the Litigation and Risk Management Practice Group. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, insurance coverage, toxic tort and general litigation matters. He received a J.D., magna cum laude, (2010) from Marquette University.
Jerabek is a member of the Business Practice Group. Her practice focuses on corporate transactions, business succession planning, and trust and estates. She received a J.D. (2008) from Marquette University.
Knaff is a member of the Business Practice Group. Knaff focuses his practice on transactional matters and contracts, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, securities and corporate finance issues.
Knaff received a J.D. (2009) from Marquette University.
Schepp re-joins the firm as a member of the Litigation and Risk Management Practice Group. Schepp’s practice focuses on commercial disputes, hospital collections and general litigation matters. She received a J.D., magna cum laude, (2003) from the University of Wisconsin.

Christopher E. Ware, Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. shareholder in the firm’s Litigation Practice, has been appointed by Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle to serve on the Board of the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA).
Ware advises and protects business clients who are confronting problematic competition and corporate compliance issues. He earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
WHEDA was created in 1972 by the Wisconsin Legislature as an independent authority, not a state agency. As a lender, WHEDA has over $3 billion in assets.
The firm also announced that attorney Todd W. Martin, a shareholder in the firm’s Business Law and Employee Benefits Practices, has been appointed Managing Shareholder of the firm’s Madison office. Martin will take over from Lynn M. Stathas, who held the position since July 2006, as part of a planned leadership rotation.
Martin received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Patricia McMahon has announced that she is stepping down at the end of the month.
Adam Collins, spokesman for Gov. Jim Doyle, said 18 lawyers applied to replace McMahon, who is retiring after 25 years on the bench.
Of those 18, the committee will interview eight applicants and then recommend a list of finalists. The governor then selects the new judge.
Those being interviewed by Doyle’s commission are State Rep. Pedro Colón, Milwaukee County prosecutor Megan Carmody, Milwaukee County Court Commissioner Cedric Cornwall, local lawyer Hannah Dugan, Colleen Foley of the Milwaukee County Office of Corporation Counsel and Tax Appeals Commission Chairman David Swanson.

Wisconsin’s Committee of Chief Judges elected Chief Judge John R. Storck, Dodge County Circuit Court, as “chief of the chiefs.” In this capacity, Storck serves as chair of the group of 10 chief judges, each of whom is selected by the Wisconsin Supreme Court to help oversee a judicial administrative district.
Storck is presiding judge in Dodge County and has served on the bench there since first being appointed in 1994. He was elected in 1995 and re-elected in 2001 and 2007.
Storck is widely recognized for his efforts to help educate the public and fellow judges about the courts and judicial procedure. In Dodge County, Storck has helped pilot a program that uses digital audio recording equipment to produce a court record when the court reporter is not available.
