The Wisconsin State Bar’s Board of Governors and Mosaic have each recognized Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. lawyer Atheneé Lucas for her continued work towards a diverse legal industry and community.

Lucas practices in Reinhart’s Business Law Department. She has been appointed to the State Bar’s Board of Governors as a Building Bridges Liaison. Through the appointment, she will get the opportunity to continue her influence on the state of diversity in the Wisconsin State Bar. Lucas is also the immediate past Chair of the Bar’s Diversity Outreach Committee.

DeWitt Ross & Stevens announced the addition of Matthew S. Moroney to the Government Relations group in Madison.

His practice will focus primarily on government relations and administrative law. He received his J.D. degree with high honors from the University of Iowa-College of Law.

von Briesen & Roper, s.c., announced that shareholder Daniel T. Dennehy has been elected to serve as Legal Counsel to the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration (WSHHRA).

Dennehy’s practice focuses on advising health care providers on all aspects of employment, personnel, and labor matters. Dennehy received a J.D., magna cum laude, in 1979 from Marquette University.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice recently hired the following four new Assistant Attorneys General:

Lewis W. Beilin, a 2003 graduate of UW Law School, comes to the DOJ from the firm of Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren where he practiced civil law, primarily in the areas of commercial, contract, tort litigation and appellate practice.

Steven C. Kilpatrick, a 1998 graduate of UW-Madison Law School, has worked the past nine years at Connecticut Legal Services, Inc.

Abigail C. S. Potts, a 2004 graduate of Vermont Law School, has practiced municipal and environmental law with the Anderson & Kent law firm in Madison since 2006.

Melissa Rhone, a 2006 graduate of UW-Madison Law School has been a staff attorney for Dane County Judges Foust and Nowakowski since 2007.

The law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Allison Sell has joined the firm as an associate on the Public Finance team.

She earned a law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Akerman Senterfitt welcomes attorney Michael J. Crist, who joins the firm’s Litigation practice group as of counsel in the Orlando office. His practice focuses on wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury cases involving a variety of products and substances such as asbestos, silica, and benzene. He earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law.

Davis & Kuelthau, s.c. announced that Ann M. Rieger, a shareholder in its Brookfield office, will assume the role of president of the firm, beginning Oct., 1, 2008.

Rieger will be the first female president of the firm. She will succeed Jim Braza, who held the position of president for three years.

Rieger focuses her practice in corporate law, non-profit law, estate planning and health law.

She earned her J.D. from Marquette University.

The firm also announced that Dan Vliet was appointed employer Co-chair of the Membership Development Committee for the Labor & Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA). His appointment will be for a one-year term, beginning at the end of 2008.

Vliet is a shareholder in the Milwaukee office of Davis & Kuelthau. He earned his J.D., from Marquette University.

The firm also announced that Chad Wade joined the firm as an associate in its Oshkosh office.

Wade will focus his practice on labor and employment, school, and municipal law. Wade obtained his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law.
