00-2783 State v. Ward

By: dmc-admin//September 4, 2001//

Listen to this article

Jeffrey Ward appeals an order denying his Wis. Stat. sec. 974.06 (1999-2000) postconviction motion in which he alleged that his 12-year sentence was excessive and his postconviction counsel was ineffective for not challenging the sentence.

Because the trial court properly exercised its sentencing discretion and Ward can establish neither deficient performance nor prejudice from his counsel’s failure to challenge the sentence, we affirm the order.

This opinion will not be published.
