Oklahoma man to be arraigned next month in court attack

MAUSTON, Wis. (AP) — An Oklahoma man accused of trying to bite sheriff’s deputies and stab one with a pen during a courtroom scuffle in Wisconsin is facing and arraignment in January on felony charges.

A criminal complaint charges 30-year-old Billy Henderson, of Tulsa, with attempted battery to a law enforcement officers, resisting an officer and disorderly conduct.

The complaint said Henderson was restrained by a belly chain, double-locked handcuffs and leg restraints when he tried to attack Deputy John Miller during an extradition hearing in Juneau County last October, the State Journal reported.

Henderson swore at the judge and after three additional officers arrived, was taken to a court holding area where he cursed at officers and threatened to kill them, the complaint said.

Officials say Henderson attempted to bite another deputy and kicked Miller in the leg after which Miller used a stun gun on him.

An arraignment of Jan. 4 was scheduled this week in Juneau County Circuit Court. Henderson’s public defender did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
