MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Milwaukee County judge decided that a 27-year-old man will spend the rest of his life in prison for orchestrating killings in a witness intimidation case.
Danta Rowsey was sentenced Friday to two consecutive life terms without parole, plus 35 years, after he was convicted of three murders and attempted murder.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Judge Thomas McAdams called the crimes “heinous and infamous” and said Rowsey was a sociopath. McAdams said this case called for no release.
A jury found that Rowsey was behind the killings of his criminal cohorts so they wouldn’t turn on him. Several of Rowsey’s family members spoke on his behalf at his sentencing hearing. They said he was innocent.
