Baby mauled by family’s pit bull; mother faces charges

Listen to this articleMILWAUKEE (AP) — Authorities say a 3-month-old is in critical condition after being mauled by the family dog, and his mother is facing criminal charges.
Twenty-seven-year-old Angelina Lache, of Milwaukee, was charged Friday with child neglect and obstructing an officer.
WISN-TV reports the complaint says Lache was in a traffic accident Tuesday night. She told officers her 3-month-old son was attacked by a dog at a friend’s house before the crash.
But the complaint says her 8-year-old son told police he and his brother were home alone when the family’s pit bull mauled the baby. The boy said his mother told him not to tell police the truth or they’d kill the dog.
The baby is in critical condition at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
Court records don’t list an attorney for Lache.
