WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — A 17-year-old boy accused of giving heroin to another teen who died has been charged with reckless homicide in Waukesha County.
According to a criminal complaint, Alex Leisten, of Oconomowoc, is also accused of selling heroin to someone else the day after 19-year-old Archie Badura died last May.
Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel tells WISN-TV heroin is “the new king of all of our worries.” Schimel says that in 25 years, he’s never seen a problem this hard to break.
Leisten is due back in court later this month. A conviction on the charge against him carries a maximum of more than 50 years in prison.
