MILWAUKEE (AP) — A woman who broke her neck when a Milwaukee County sheriff’s deputy ran a stop sign and slammed into her vehicle has filed a federal lawsuit against the deputy and several colleagues.

Tanya Weyker filed suit Tuesday against Deputy Joseph Quiles, Sheriff David Clarke and others. She said Quiles caused the collision, and his colleagues arrested her for drunken driving even though she had no alcohol in her system.

Surveillance video shows Quiles running a stop sign just before midnight on Feb. 20, 2013, and slamming into Weyker’s vehicle. Weyker suffered multiple neck fractures and her passenger had a lacerated spleen.

A message left with the sheriff’s department seeking comment from Quiles was not immediately returned. Department spokeswoman Fran McLaughlin said the lawsuit contains no evidence of the claims.
