APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — An Appleton man who claimed his 3-year-old daughter initiated sexual contact will likely spend the next 12 years behind bars.
Outagamie County prosecutors recommended a stronger sentence of 25 years in prison for the 39-year-old man. Assistant District Attorney Peter Hahn said the man blames the mother of the child and even the victim and needs to be “locked up for a long time.”
Judge Mitchell Metropulos told the man he needs long-term treatment when he sentenced him in court this week. The Post-Crescent Media says the defendant earlier pleaded no contest to first-degree child sexual assault, a felony punishable by up to 60 years in prison.
The defendant asked the judge to order mental health treatment as part of his sentence.
