MADISON, Wis. (AP) – A homicide case against a man accused of running over his own 2-year-old son with an SUV in Fitchburg has been suspended after the man was found incompetent to stand trial.
A Wisconsin State Journal report says 31-year-old Jesus A. Castillo-Dimas had his case suspended Thursday.
He’s charged with first-degree intentional homicide and two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide. He’s accused of running over Yandel Castillo-Castillo, and also trying to stab his son’s mother and her boyfriend.
He’d been scheduled to face trial next month but that’s been postponed. He’ll now receive mental health treatment for up to a year or until he regains competency.
He has pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.
A message left with his defense attorney was not immediately returned.
