Bitney appointed to Barron County seat

Listen to this articleA district attorney in northwest Wisconsin is switching counties and moving up the ranks of the state judicial system.
Michael Bitney on Thursday was appointed as a judge for Branch 2 of Barron County Circuit Court, according to a news release.
Before his appointment by Gov. Scott Walker, Bitney served as district attorney in nearby Washburn County beginning in 1993. Before that, he worked at a private law firm in Spooner after receiving his law degree from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn.
Bitney is replacing Judge Timothy Doyle, who retired July 1.
