MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A conservative third party group dominated spending on television ads in the primary race for Wisconsin Supreme Court.
The Brennan Center for Justice released estimates after Tuesday’s primary that show Wisconsin Club for Growth spent more than $300,000 on TV ads in support of incumbent Justice Pat Roggensack.
She won Tuesday’s primary, getting more than twice as many votes as runner up Ed Fallone, a Marquette University law professor. Third-place finisher Vince Megna was eliminated. Fallone and Roggensack face each other in the April 2 general election.
Neither Fallone nor Megna ran any TV ads in the primary.
According to The Brennan Center, Roggensack spent about $90,000 on ads before the primary.
