As national Pro Bono Week approaches, Legal Action of Wisconsin’s Volunteer Lawyers Project announced it will again offer lawyers free training on pro bono issues.

Attorneys who agree to represent Legal Action of Wisconsin clients on a pro bono basis can attend the training seminars at no cost. Seminars will be held next month in Madison and Pewaukee.

Madison seminars will be held at the American Family Training Center on Nov. 7-9. Session topics include landlord-tenant law, unemployment compensation and bankruptcy. There also will be a session on consumer-rights law featuring lawyers from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Training sessions in Pewaukee will be held Nov. 16, Nov. 19 and Nov. 20 at the R.T. Anderson Education Center at Waukesha County Technical College. Sessions will cover basic family law, immigration and interpreter issues and elder law.

CLE credit is available. Visit vlp.legalaction.org for more information.
