FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) – A teen accused in a Fond du Lac County crash that killed three of her friends and injured five others made an initial court appearance Tuesday.
Eighteen-year-old Carly Ottery is charged with three counts of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle.
Prosecutors say Ottery was going more than 100 mph in a town of Ashford road Feb. 4 when she lost control and crashed in a field. Fifteen-year-old Sabrina Stahl, 16-year-old Katie Berg and 17-year-old Caitlin Scannell were killed.
WFDL reports special prosecutor Christian Gossett said the case could be resolved by the next court hearing. Ottery remains free on a $5,000 signature bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled July 27.
