Police arrest woman in bomb threat case

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Police have arrested a young woman they believe threatened to blow up two state government buildings in Madison.

Crews cleaning the Department of Natural Resources headquarters and the Department of Public Instruction building next door discovered written bomb threats on Tuesday evening. Police evacuated both buildings but a search turned up nothing unusual.

Capitol Police say they arrested a 24-year-old Fitchburg woman at her home on Thursday evening in connection with the threats. They say she works for a contract cleaning company and was cleaning the two buildings on the night the threats were discovered.

The case has been forwarded to prosecutors. Online court records didn’t list the case or an attorney for the woman Friday morning.
