WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — A central Wisconsin woman could go to prison for more than 12 years for failing to protect her 9-year-old daughter from being sexually abused.

The 32-year-old woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to a felony charge of failing to prevent the sexual assault of a child. The mother says she knew her daughter was being sexually assaulted, but did nothing to stop it.

One of the two men who lived with the woman and her daughter, Bryan Hearron, has been ordered to stand trial in Marathon County on a charge of first-degree sexual assault of a child.

According to the Wausau Daily Herald, the other man, Clyde McCollum, faces 75 counts of possession of child pornography.

The mother faces sentencing May 13.
