16-year-old charged with DUI in deadly crash with UPS truck

A 16-year-old driver has been charged with driving while intoxicated after a vehicle crash killed one person and injured another on Wednesday, in North Carolina, reports WRAL.

According to WRAL, a car, a pickup truck and a Mack truck towing two UPS semi-trailers crashed near a gas station.

According to authorities, the pickup truck was pushed through an intersection and into the side of a passing UPS semi-trailer, which was being towed by a Mack truck.

The driver of the pickup truck was identified by police as a 63 year-old man who was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 16-year-old driver, was hospitalized with serious injuries, and later charged.
