Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) officials said they were involved Tuesday in a vehicle pursuit at or around 2:55 p.m., on the 2700 block of W. Lisbon Avenue, which concluded in downtown Milwaukee.

Authorities told the Wisconsin Law Journal on Wednesday that MPD officers observed a vehicle wanted in connection to a homicide and attempted to make a traffic stop.

“The driver refused, and a vehicle pursuit ensued,” MPD officials said, noting the pursuit terminated when officers lost sight of the vehicle.

Shortly thereafter, MPD successfully located the vehicle at or around the 700 block of N. Milwaukee Street in downtown Milwaukee on Tuesday.

FBI Milwaukee officials told the Wisconsin Law Journal on Thursday, “I can confirm that the FBI was assisting the Milwaukee Police Department with an incident in downtown Milwaukee on Tuesday afternoon. The FBI routinely offers assistance to our law enforcement partners, to provide additional manpower and specialized resources, if they become necessary. For details about the investigation, please contact MPD, which is the lead investigative agency. The FBI values strong collaboration with local and state law enforcement partners across Wisconsin.”

MPD officials said on Wednesday that three suspects were arrested as they were entering a parking garage.

“The vehicle was a stolen auto. Several firearms were recovered,” police said.

According to MPD, suspects include, a 17-year-old male, an 18-year-old male and 19-year-old male, all of whom were arrested.

“Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Milwaukee Police continue to seek an additional suspect,” authorities said Wednesday.
