Last week, Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric J. Toney announced that Timothy D. Brown was sentenced for the August 20, 2022 intentional homicide of Brandon Johnson. The defendant was previously convicted after a five day jury trial in January of 2024.

The state recommended on Count 1: life in prison without eligibility for release and on Count 2: a consecutive sentence of five years of initial confinement and five years of extended supervision.

Judge Tricia Walker sentenced the defendant on Count 1: First Degree Intentional Homicide to life in prison without eligibility for release and on Count 2: Felon in Possession of a Firearm to five years of initial confinement and five years of extended supervision.

“The defendant executed Brandon Johnson and stole a father from his children, while showing no signs of remorse. We will never accept brutal violence and murder as normal in our communities and we will always aggressively prosecute those responsible to protect our communities and fight for justice. This sentence is a small measure of justice for the victims and society,” Toney said.

This case was investigated by the City of Fond du Lac Police Department.

“Their excellent investigation, including the collection of surveillance footage led to crucial trial testimony by Detective Kristina Meilahn. This was instrumental in securing these convictions. We are blessed to have amazing law enforcement officers in our community. This case was prosecuted by District Attorney Eric Toney and ADA Gordon Leech,” authorities said.
