Davis & Kuelthau, s.c. announces the addition of Daniel Kaminsky, Geoffrey Lacy and Matthew McClean as shareholders of the firm.

Kaminsky joined the firm’s Milwaukee office nearly six years ago and specializes in real estate development and commercial real estate transactions. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Marquette University Law School.

Also practicing with the firm for almost six years, Lacy is located in the firm’s Green Bay office where he advises employers on employment law issues, including hiring, discipline, discrimination defense, FMLA, FLSA, and immigration law. Lacy received his J.D. from Marquette University Law School.

McClean joined Davis & Kuelthau’s Milwaukee office in 2006. He represents clients in all aspects of commercial litigation including construction disputes and property claims. He received his J.D. from Marquette University Law School.

The law firm of Beck, Chaet, Bamberger & Polsky, S.C. announces that Benjamin A. Menzel has joined the firm as a shareholder. Menzel, a 2002 graduate of Marquette University Law School, concentrates his practice in the areas of civil litigation, commercial and business litigation and debtor/creditor rights.

Brenda Sunby, an attorney working in the Wausau, Rhinelander, and Stevens Point offices of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C.,  is the recipient of this year’s prestigious Mentor Award, given by the Association for Women Lawyers (AWL) to one outstanding female attorney in the state of Wisconsin each year. Among many nominations, Sunby was selected for her contribution to the advancement of women in the legal profession, including the development of women lawyers, promotion of the legal interests of women, honor and integrity of the legal profession, and her commitment to advancing justice for all.

Christopher Krimmer of Balisle & Roberson, S.C. has been elected to join the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Inter-Professional Committee on Divorce (WIPCOD). WIPCOD is committed to bringing lawyers, therapists, mediators and other professionals together to foster learning & collaboration in assisting individuals adjusting to changes in their families during a divorce. The Board consists of 20 board members throughout the state.

Krimmer graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School and practices exclusively family law and estate planning. He is also an adjunct professor of law at Marquette University Law School.

Foley & Lardner LLP announces that Maria Gonzalez Knavel, partner in the Milwaukee office, has been selected as the recipient of the 2010 Association of Women Lawyers (AWL) Community Involvement Award. This honor is presented in recognition of an attorney who demonstrates significant involvement in organizations committed to strengthening and improving the quality of life for those in Milwaukee and Southeast Wisconsin.

Gonzalez Knavel is a member of the Health Care and Life Sciences Industry Teams and Government Enforcement, Compliance & White Collar Defense Practice Group.

The foundation for Gonzalez Knavel’s community involvement activities comes from both her legal practice and personal experience. The three primary organizations to which Gonzalez Knavel donates many hours of time and effort are the Zoological Society of Milwaukee, COA Youth & Family Centers and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

On Sept. 22, the Wisconsin Association of Legal Administrators hosted its annual Managing Partner Dinner at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison.

This year’s event, Anticipating The Economic Recovery, was presented by Michael M. Knetter, Dean of the Business School at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Approximately 60 people attended the event which included law firm administrators and managing partners, along with several of WALA’s business partners.

The State Bar of Wisconsin co-sponsored the event.
