Milwaukee Bar Association honors legal community, introduces Board at annual meeting

On Tuesday, The Milwaukee Bar Association held its annual meeting, giving out awards to Milwaukee’s legal community and introducing several new members to Association’s board of directors.

Hon. Michael Skwierawski was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award (posthumous).

As previously reported by the Wisconsin Law Journal, Milwaukee may have lost of a legal legend, but Judge Michael Skwierawski‘s legacy will live on throughout Wisconsin’s legal community and beyond.

Mary Ferwerda, Chief Deputy Clerk of Circuit Court, Milwaukee County was awarded with MBA’s Lawyer of the Year Award.

Attorney Tom Reed received MBA’s 2024 distinguished service award. Reed currently serves as Regional Attorney Manager and Milwaukee Trial Assistant State Public Defender

During an interview with the Wisconsin Law Journal on Thursday, Hardy said, “It’s been a pleasure to serve on the board for the past 5 years, and particularly special to serve this past year with my friend and colleague Emil at the helm. I look forward to continuing the great work of the MBA with our new president, Michelle, and to once again serve with newly elected board members Emily Stedman and Judge Kori Ashley, who I’ve had the pleasure of working with through various State Bar initiatives. I am also excited to continue serving as co-chair of the MBA’s Strategic Planning Task Force to ensure an even better Bar for both members and the community.”
