MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Milwaukee man accused of shooting and wounding a Wauwatosa police officer in June has pleaded guilty to charges.

Najee Harmon pleaded guilty Monday to two reduced counts of recklessly endangering safety and one count each of first-degree reckless injury and possession of a firearm as a felon. He was originally charged with three counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, as well as the injury and firearm charges.

A complaint says three Wauwatosa officers were investigating a burglary when they saw a parked car that was reported stolen. They surrounded Harmon, drew their weapons and ordered him to surrender. According to the complaint, Harmon started running away, drew a handgun and fired at police.

Detective Jeffrey Griffin was hit once, suffering serious injuries. Harmon was later arrested.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 18.
