A state panel has approved raises for members of the Wisconsin State Attorneys Association, bringing them one step closer to receiving the same raise their non-union counterparts received in July.
The 1 percent raise would affect about 275 attorneys based on data from a June 2013 tabulation, said Kit Beyer, communications director for Rep. Robin Vos, R-Rochester. Vos is co-chair for the Joint Committee on Employment relations, which approved the raises Thursday.
The committee voted 7-1 in favor of the tentative collective bargaining agreement for 2014, with Rep. Jim Steinke, R-Kaukauna, excused.
The bill now advances to the legislature. If approved there, it would move on to Gov. Scott Walker.
