MILWAUKEE (AP) — A man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in an attempted robbery of a Milwaukee-area store that left one of his accomplices dead.
A judge also sentenced 20-year-old Tedric Sanders of Milwaukee to 7-½ years of extended supervision on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to attempted armed robbery as party to a crime. Sanders was originally charged with felony murder and bail jumping in the death of Joshua Drake, who was fatally shot by an employee at an eyeglasses store during the attempted robbery in August.
Authorities say Sanders, Drake and at least one other person tried to rob the store and an employee exchanged at least 21 shots with Drake. He died at the scene. Authorities found Sanders at a hospital with a graze wound to the head.
