Ruder Ware announced the addition of Bryan Symes to their attorney team. He will be based in the Eau Claire office as a member of the Employment, Labor & Benefits and Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Groups.

Symes represents management-side clients in the areas of employment and labor law and provides counseling and litigation services. Symes earned his J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Bell, Moore & Richter, SC announced that Joost Kap has been named a director at the Madison law firm located at 44 E. Mifflin Street. An attorney since 2005, he concentrates his practice in the areas of insurance defense and civil litigation. Joost received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Madison non-profit law firm Community Justice Inc. has appointed Attorney Jennifer Binkley as the organization’s development director.

Binkley, a 2001 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, joined CJI as an attorney in 2005 and currently serves as the organization’s managing attorney. She also co-chairs the Dane County Bar Association’s Delivery of Legal Services Committee.

The Dane County Bar Association celebrated Law Day on April 29, with its annual Pro Bono Breakfast, hosted by the Delivery of Legal Services Committee and First United Methodist Church. The breakfast honor lawyers who have given of their time and energy to help those who otherwise would not have access to legal assistance or representation and to raise funds for the Dane County Pro Bono Trust Fund, Porchlight of Madison and the Dane County Bar Pro Se Family Law video series. Judges Juan Colas and Amy Smith were the keynote speakers, providing their perspectives from the bench about the need and tremendous value of pro bono assistance to litigants. Michael Best & Friedrich LLP announced Mary Ann Christopher has joined the firm as a partner in its Milwaukee office. She will join the firm’s Energy and Sustainability Industry Team as well as the Transactional Practice Group where she will focus on project finance, complex business transactions and mergers and acquisitions.
