WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — A Waukesha man is accused of providing a woman with a prescription drug that police say killed her.
Forty-nine-year-old Leon Thomas is charged with first-degree reckless homicide and maintaining a drug trafficking place.
According to the complaint, 21-year-old Holly Reidy visited Thomas at his apartment last February. According to the complaint, Thomas provided Reidy with a patch containing fentanyl, a narcotic pain reliever. The patch was ripped apart and Reidy swallowed the gel.
Police responded to a report of an overdose and found Thomas trying to resuscitate Reidy. She died three days later at a hospital.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Thomas is imprisoned at the Dodge Correctional Institute.
