MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Milwaukee man convicted of beating his girlfriend’s children and putting one of them in a clothes dryer has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

As part of a plea agreement, 26-year-old Nicholas James Fuchs pleaded no contest Friday to four felony charges of child abuse and recklessly endangering safety. Online court records show that prosecutors dismissed two other felony charges.

A 4-year-old child told investigators that “Mean Nick” put her in the dryer “a lot of times” and that it was dark and she was scared. A criminal complaint says Fuchs also broke her arm and assaulted her 5-year-old brother.

The complaint says Fuchs also dunked the boy’s feet in hot water if he wet his pants.

A message left with Fuchs’ attorney Saturday wasn’t immediately returned.
