MILWAUKEE (AP) — In a sign of how much national attention Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race is drawing, Sarah Palin has now weighed in with an endorsement.

The race is between incumbent Justice David Prosser and Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg.

While the seven-member court is officially nonpartisan, Prosser is seen as part of a conservative majority, while a Kloppenburg win would tilt the court’s ideological balance to the left.

The former Alaska governor tweeted Friday, “Wisconsin, please remember to vote for Justice Prosser on April 5.”

According to Prosser’s campaign, it didn’t seek her endorsement but welcomes broad support. Kloppenburg’s campaign declined to comment.

Political experts say the race is shaping up as a referendum on Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s contentious push to strip collective bargaining rights from most state employees.
