The Office of Lawyer Regulation is asking for reciprocal discipline for a New York attorney who was punished in his home state for not filing his taxes.

In 2015, a New York court suspended Leroi Andrews’ New York law license for three months for failing to file an income-tax return in 2007. Andrews was found guilty of the misdemeanor crime in 2013. He was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay more than $68,000 in tax penalties and interest.

Wisconsin’s Office of Lawyer Regulation said Andrews never reported the suspension. It’s asking for a reciprocal three-month law license suspension in Wisconsin and other relief, including an award of costs.

Andrews is a UW Law School graduate who was admitted to practice law in Wisconsin in 1988. His Wisconsin law license has been suspended since 1992 for failing to pay bar dues and later failing to comply with continuing legal-education requirements. He lists his current address as a residence in the Bronx.
