WI Court of Appeals – District III

Case Name: State of Wisconsin v. Eric Jon Lantz

Case No.: 2021AP001613-CR

Officials: Stark, P.J., Hruz and Gill, JJ.

Focus: Right to Counsel

Lantz appeals from a judgment convicting him of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OWI), as a seventh offense. Lantz asserts that the circuit court erred by denying his motion to collaterally attack one of his prior OWI convictions. The appeals court concludes that the court properly denied Lantz’s motion because Lantz failed to make prima facie showing that his right to counsel was violated in the prior case.

Affirmed.

Decided 01/18/23
