Association of Corporate Counsel-Wisconsin announces new board members

The Association of Corporate Counsel-Wisconsin announced Thursday the election of new board members and executive officers. René Jovel and Meghan Pirics join as board members. Paul Hinkfuss, Daniel Posanski, Sean McMurrough and Doe Gregersen are the 2022-2023 elected officers.

René Jovel

A Marquette Law School graduate, Jovel is deputy general counsel and director of legal operations at Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin and Metropolitan Chicago. His primary areas of responsibility include labor and employment matters, contracts and the management of the Legal Department. Prior to joining Goodwill, Jovel worked as a constituent services representative for U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin.  Currently, he serves on the selection committee for the Milwaukee Awards for Neighborhood Development Innovation.

Meghan Pirics

Pirics is the senior associate attorney for the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club. For the Brewers, Pirics is responsible for drafting and negotiating agreements for the Club’s business and baseball operations. She also manages all legal matters for the American Family Fields of Phoenix, the Club’s Spring Training facility. Her role includes defending and maintaining the Club’s trademark and other intellectual property rights and serving as a member of several internal working groups, including the Club’s Internal Risk Committee and COVID-19 Response Team. A Marquette Law School graduate, Meghan is actively involved in the Milwaukee and Marquette communities, and will join Marquette’s Law School faculty in the fall as an adjunct professor in the Sports Law Program. During law school, she was a recipient of the Certificate in Sports Law from the National Sports Law Institute.

Paul Hinkfuss

Hinkfuss joins the ACC-WI as the newly elected president following the term of Anne Dorn from Direct Supply, Inc. He is the deputy general counsel for MLG Capital, a real estate investment company located in Brookfield where he has worked for a total of 23 years.  In his role, Hinkfuss drafts and reviews agreements relating to the purchase and sale of real estate, the development of property, the management of real estate and a variety of other matters. Additionally, he assists with the development of various policies and procedures.  Before joining MLG, he was a partner at a mid-size Milwaukee law firm with a real estate and litigation practice.  A University of Wisconsin Law School graduate, Hinkfuss began his legal career with Foley & Lardner after clerking for the Wisconsin State Court of Appeals.

Daniel Posanski was elected vice-president. Posanski is senior counsel for US Venture Inc. in Appleton.

Sean McMurrough, corporate compliance & ethics director for American Family Mutual Insurance, has been elected secretary.

Newly elected treasurer, Doe Gregersen is the senior regulatory counsel for Digit Co.
