Michael Best welcomes Valentyn to Madison office

Brett Valentyn has joined the Corporate & Transactional Practice Group at Michael Best & Friedrich’s Madison office. The firm announced Wednesday that Valentyn joins as a senior counsel.

Previously practicing with Sidley Austin, Valentyn began as a summer associate in 2015 for the Chicago firm, returned as a full-time associate in 2016 and made is way to managing associate in January of this year. He has experience with corporate and transactional matters along with merges and acquisition transactions.

Valentyn graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School where he worked as a student attorney at the Law School’s Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic. While pursuing his law degree, Valentyn was a student fellow for Chicago Ventures and president of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society.

Before law school, he was an analyst for a global professional services firm, dealing with services related to mergers and acquisitions and real estate transactions.
