Wisconsin Access to Justice Commission names attorneys to Pro Bono Honor Society

The Wisconsin Access to Justice Commission announced this week that it has named 292 more attorneys to its 2021 Wisconsin Pro Bono Honor Society.

Each of the inductees provided at least 50 hours of qualifying pro bono legal services in 2021, many of them more.

Attorneys in Milwaukee County and Dane County took the top spots. All told, 147 of the inductees are Milwaukee attorneys and 57 are Dane County attorneys. Waukesha County had 12 attorneys, and 11 attorneys came from out of state. All other Wisconsin counties that had fewer than ten attorneys who were inducted.

The volunteered time spent in 2021 went toward helping with asylum claims, indigent-defendants matters, courtroom time, legal advice and various other priorities.

The list of all 292 attorneys can be found at wisatj.org.
