Benjamin Streckert has always been passionate about being a leader and being a part of something bigger than himself.

Growing up, he began to notice that many community and business officials were lawyers.

“It became apparent that legal training and a career as an attorney gave people skills that opened up leadership opportunities and the chance to make a difference in their companies and communities,” said Streckert.

Streckert decided to pursue a career in law and, after graduating from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2017, he joined Ruder Ware in its Wausau office. He specializes in general corporate matters, including mergers and acquisition, and securities. Streckert also advises banks, bank holding companies and other financial institutions.

“Ben has demonstrated an impressive ability to provide quality and efficient legal services to Ruder Ware’s clients,” said new Ruder Ware President Matthew Rowe.

Streckert said he enjoys the fast-paced nature of his job.

“Corporate transactions are complex and often develop very quickly,” he said. “I enjoy the challenge that brings. I also like the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with clients and to see their businesses grow and evolve.

“It’s really fulfilling when a client begins to see me as a trusted member of their team rather than just an outside attorney.”

One of the hardest parts of his job is ensuring he is making efficient use of his time.

“There are a lot of places I could devote my time, and it can be difficult to choose the right breakdown,” he said.

When he’s not at work, Streckert likes watching all Wisconsin professional sports.

“I go to quite a few Packer games,” he said. “I also enjoy golf, exploring new hiking trails around the state and reading books on business culture and building healthy organizations.”
