Recently released statistics from the American Bar Association show enrollment at UW Law School and Marquette University Law School in 2019.
UW Law School reported 650 Juris Doctor students enrolled in 2019, up from 589 in 2018. That’s about a 10 percent increase. However, first-year enrollment declined about 19 percent with 52 fewer students.
Marquette University Law School had about the same number of Juris Doctor students for the past two years. It reported 572 students enrolled in 2019, up from 568 in 2018. First-year enrollment increased about 4 percent in 2019, with seven more students than the previous year.

The ABA found total law school enrollment was up 1.2 percent, reporting that 112,882 students were enrolled at its 203 approved law schools in 2019. The University of New Hampshire’s law school experienced the highest percentage increase in enrollment among the surveyed schools. It added 82 students in 2019, a nearly 37 percent increase.
The lowest enrollment numbers were zero at Valparaiso Law School in Tennessee and Whittier Law School in California. Both are in the process of closing.
