Noelle Granitz loves to see development happening all around her and, as a commercial real estate attorney and associate at Quarles & Brady in Milwaukee, she has already been able to lend a hand to such growth.

Granitz specializes in construction projects, which are a natural fit for her interest in law and development.

“I had a genuine interest in being able to help clients acquire a piece of property, build something on it and then lease it out or sell it,” Granitz said. “I find it really fascinating and really cool to have a job where I get to learn about so many different industries.”

Granitz lists projects in the health care and timber industries as some of her favorite accomplishments. Since receiving her law degree from Marquette University Law School in 2012, she has represented health care clients throughout the development, design and construction of hospitals and medical-office buildings. She also helped organize a timber-investment client’s acquisition of more than 15,000 acres of real estate.

“Noelle has shown the ability to develop strong relationships with several clients, and in doing so has become a very trusted advisor,” said Michael Zeka, a partner at Quarles & Brady and mentor to Granitz.

Granitz said she’s happy when clients are satisfied, especially when she’s able to guide them through a complex transaction. One such project had her helping a nonprofit group acquire an entire city block parcel by parcel to build a school in an economically depressed part of Milwaukee.

“My goals are to keep working on engaging and sophisticated transactions and to assist more clients in achieving their business objectives through real estate,” Granitz said.

Granitz said working with new attorneys and the Sojourner Family Peace Center’s restraining-order clinic at the Milwaukee County Courthouse has also made her career fulfilling.

“The type of pro bono work I do there is so different than my normal day-to-day,” Granitz said. “The individuals that come to the clinic frequently appreciate the assistance of someone familiar with the process and really just having someone lend an ear.”

Her colleagues say her willingness to guide people through difficulty will surely lead her to future success.

“Noelle is recognized by our firm’s important clients as a curtail advocate and counselor,” said Douglas Buck, a partner at Quarles & Brady. “Our firm sees Noelle as one of our rising stars and a future leader.”
